Lashes and Glasses. Tips For Success!

There is nothing more eye popping than adding some false lashes to your makeup routine. Lets be real, I do not wear false lashes every day, respect to the ladies who do!  Putting on false lashes can be a tricky process.  When I was a full time performer (vocalist) and was doing a show nearly every day the lashes were definitely a part of the routine.  Here are some of my tips for putting them on as well as my favorite false lash brands!

Attaching the lashes:
Lets talk about the glue that will hold these babies on all night, thru sweat and tears. Hopefully tears from laughing too much!

My go to is from House of Lashes. The Mini Lash Adhesive Set is perfect. It is a latex free formula which is waterproof as well!  Switching to this product was a game changer.  Not only did it keep my lashes on, it was easy to remove and didn’t put strain on my own lashes as some other brands did. Basically, it didn’t pull out my own lash hairs. They have a black and or white adhesive. The white does dry clear but you can really see where it is and how much you put on the lash.

PRO TIP!
Don’t immediately apply the lash to your eyelid as soon as you put the glue on. WAIT!

Blow on the glue and wait about 30 seconds, then apply it. I use my fingers and a Q-Tip to place it on and ensure the both edges are secure. This tip will ensure lash success, trust me. Patience is key!

To Remove your gorgeous lashes:

PRO TIP! Use some eye make up remover on a Q-tip and run that over the top of the false eyelash, gently peel it away. This helps to loosen the bond of the adhesive and will ensure less pull on the eyelid and your own lashes.

To Re-Use your Lashes:
Use some tweezers or your fingers to pull off the residue of glue so you can wear them again!

Eylure London Faux Mink Effects

These are my favorite go to lashes for any special occasion or when I want to feel really glam. They are faux mink so the cost is cut in half of real mink lashes. Visually, they look softer and more natural. They don’t have a plastic like look that some cheaper fake lashes can have.  I find that I can also can get about 5 to 7 uses out of them too. Unfortunately, with lash glue, eyeshadow, and mascara you won’t be able to use your faux lashes forever, you will need to replace them.  This is why I love this brand, they range from $5 to $10 per pair.

Other favorite lash brands:

Lilly Lashes (for luxurious real mink lashes)
Velour Lashes (for luxurious real mink lashes)
Ardel Lashes (for affordable everyday lashes)

If you want to buy bulk eyelashes:
I highly suggest going to Amazon. You can buy fake lashes from China.  This is what I did when I did a show everyday as a performer.  10 pairs for $1. No joke. I did have to wait about a month for them to arrive but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality! They aren’t as luxurious as House of Lashes or Eyelure, but they work! You can get one to two days use out of them and do not need to feel bad about tossing them when they are too worn.

And finally, all of my glasses wearing girls, fear not you can wear lashes with your glasses! It all comes down to the adjustment on you frame. Visit an optician you trust for any frame adjustments you may need.  Wear your fake lashes with your glasses so that they can see what adjustments need to be made to make certain your fabulous lashes won’t touch the back of your lenses.
